Traffic Police goes Digital from May 2013 in New Delhi, India.
E-Challan
- All record of Vehicle Owner with Name and Address will be available on spot by punching in the Vehicle Registration Number in E-Challan Device
- The Previous Challan as punched in E-Challan Device will also reflect against the requisite car
- Customer can make payment by paying Cash or use E-Challan device to make payment through credit cards or debit cards
- The Device will come equipped with server information which will give detail of actual owner of the car. In event of a car been caught by traffic police and car registration documents or owner ID and address proof does not matches with the information of central server - in most likely circumstance it could be a theft car and can catch hold of it
- Even cash acknowledgement slip will also be generated instantly by paying challan amount as receipt of challan
- On repeated violation as depicted in E-challan devise, traffic police has authority to seize the license of driver and take requisite penal action
E-Challan is getting implemented in Delhi starting 1st week of May and in subsequent months is expected to get implemented in Mumbai - following which other cities will also be covered under same.
